Bear News

From our friend Rob Balmer who sent this breaking bear news!!!

The Department of Fish and Wildlife is advising hikers, hunters, fishermen and golfers to take extra precautions and be on the alert for bears while in mountainous areas. They advise people to wear noise-producing devices, such as little bells, on their clothing to alert, but not startle the bears unexpectedly. They recommend carrying pepper spray in case of an encounter with a bear. It is also a good idea to watch for fresh signs of bear activity. People should be able to recognize the difference between black bear and grizzly bear droppings: Black bear droppings are smaller and contain berries and possibly squirrel fur. Grizzly bear droppings have little bells in them and smell like pepper spray.

Vacation comes to a close.

As we returned to find our home still intact from Brittneys care we sighed some relief to be back home. Mayson was with us all day Saturday and he and Carrie enjoyed the hot tub. Then we were off to breakfast and to my moms house in Hillsborough to get some pool time in. I also got some cake for my Birthday!

Coloma - Rafting

After 2 years of having a house on the American River Carrie and I took a ride down it to close out our vacation. Here we are about to go over the rapid called Troublemaker which led us into Meatgrinder. Great names and we had a blast!
