Our New Friends In Terrigal

We made some great new friends in Terrigal. John & Loryse Beresford who were so gracious to invite us over for an Australian BBQ. We had a wonderful time walking the grounds of their beautiful home and garden. Delicious meals and I hope we get a chance to return the favor in the states some day. We saw a Red fox which ran across the field below.

Barrack & George Street

Seems Barrack comes out on top of George here in Australia also!

At the Reptile park we watched this lady "milking" a Funnel Spider so they can make anti venom. Was pretty interesting. I liked the set up with the little camera and projection so you can see the what is going on. Actually made me a tad sick.
These Funnel spiders are all over the place and are scary. The funnel spider is one of the top three deadliest spiders in the world.

We had lunch with our new Terrigal friends and they said the funnel spiders fall into the pool sometimes and they make a little air bubble with web and stay alive. I guess they are hoping the water will dry up and they can walk away. They said they always check the pool for them.

More on Funnel Spiders go here.

Faces

This guy was sitting guard at his beach front house. Nice place I can see why he guards it.
Stonefish. Scary stuff. Deadly fish.
Tasmanian Devil. Really are like the Bugs Bunny Character. They never stop moving!
This guy was waiting for his Surfer owner very patiently.

We found Nemo and Friends in Darling Harbor

We took the train to Sydney on Friday.  The trains here are incredibly quiet and pretty simple to navigate.  Although you always have the feeling that you might be on the wrong train.  When we arrived in downtown Sydney for our day trip, we were quickly were immersed into the fasted paced city life which slightly shocked the system.

We made our way down to Darling Harbor and to the Aquarium to see under sea life.
